CMSgt Court Sartain: The Pursuit of Purpose - There Are No Do-Overs…But There Are Second Chances
Chief Master Sergeant Courtenay "Court" M. Sartain is the Senior Enlisted Leader for the 668th Alteration Installation Squadron, Lackland AFB, TX. As Superintendent he is responsible for leading and mentoring 187 military, civilian communication and civil engineering engineers and technicians, supply technicians, and contractors across preventive maintenance and corrective actions, repair and minor construction of infrastructure in support of Department of Defense, Air Force, and other government intelligence agencies. Chief Master Sergeant Sartain grew up in San Antonio, TX and entered the Air Force in February 1997. After completion of Basic Military Training, he attended technical training at Lackland AFB, TX where he graduated as a Supply Management Apprentice. Chief Sartain then separated from the Air Force after his initial contract and transferred to the Inactive Reserves. After 11 months separation, Sergeant Sartain returned to active duty where he cross-trained and attended technical training at Sheppard AFB, TX as an Electrical Systems Apprentice. During his career he has served at the tactical and operational level of support in various positions including: Logistics, Civil Engineering, Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance support, and Joint Engineer Staff. He has deployed numerous times in support of Operation JOINT FORGE, SOUTHERN WATCH, IRAQI FREEDOM, ENDURING FREEDOM, AFGANISTAN CONSOLIDASTION III/TRANSITION I, and FREEDOM SENTINEL/ INHERENT RESOLVE Chief Master Sergeant Sartain is married to Senior Master Sergeant (First Sergeant) MelissaSartain and has two children, Jose Jr. and Alexis.
